Prof. Dr. Rainer Tetzlaff

Prof. Dr. Rainer Tetzlaff is Wisdom Professor of African and Development Studies at Jacobs University. He studied German literature, philosophy, history, economic history and political science at the Universities of Bonn and Berlin (Freie Universität), and received his Dr.phil and Habilitation from Freie Universität Berlin. Before joining Jacobs University, Prof. Tetzlaff held professorships at Freie Universität Berlin, the University of Konstanz, and the University of Hamburg. His areas of research expertise cover African colonial history, African politics, International Relations (North-South relations), development policy of the World Bank, IMF and EU, development theories, and democratization in the Third World.
