Common Room
University stress can take quite a toll on students so convenient opportunities for leisure and relaxation are really important. The common room in College Nordmetall is the perfect solution which comes fully furnished with large comfortable couches, pool, table football, air hockey, darts and board games that can be borrowed from the college office. Students are also welcome to use the common room to organize small parties with their friends.
Multi Media Room - MMR
There is nothing like watching a blockbuster on the big screen in High Definition with 5.1 Digital Surround Sound, is there?... Yes, there is... having a Play Station 3 connected to the SAME screen :) Our MMR has it all. Choose from a selection of PS3 games, bring along your own movies in DVD and BluRay or just connect your laptop to the beamer; then sit back and enjoy the ride!

Quiet Study Areas - QSAs
But in the end the whole point of going to a university is to study! Of course you can do that in the comfort of your rooms but sometimes a more suitable environment is needed. Our QSAs allow students to study in a guaranteed quiet environment, both in groups and individually. The QSAs also offer printing and scanning facilities.

Conference Room
College Nordmetall offers an excellent conference room to all members of Jacobs University. The conference room can be used for tutorials, group study sessions, conferences, club meetings, presentations etc.

Student Rooms
A typical student room in College Nordmetall comes with a proper bed, mattress, pillow, telephone, study desk with a shelf and small cupboard, very comfortable office chair, a large cupboard with shelves and space for hanging clothes, heating system, curtains, and a bathroom complete with an excellent shower, mirror and shelf. Not to mention the college is only a semester old so everything is new, shiny and up for grabs! :)

Servery
Offering three meals a day and a fantastic brunch on Sundays/Holidays, the Aramark Catering Servery in College Nordmetall attracts students and faculty alike. Come and meet your friends as well as your professors for a relaxed lunch on the sunny outside terasse! The servery is the biggest in Jacobs University yet and offers a delicious and diverse international cuisine that appeals to all nationalities of Jacobs. And, it is the only servery that features a counter where the food is freshly prepared right in front of your eyes ;)
Garden
Styled after the University's Campus Green, the garden in College Nordmetall is possibly the most beautiful site at Jacobs. Whether you're stressed or happy, just walk into the garden, lie down on the grassy slopes, listen to the soothing rocky water fountain and close your eyes.... and if THAT doesn't work for you, open your laptop and get instant wifi access to the internet :)
Laundry Room
College Nordmetall has one laundry room in the basement. It comes with 10 washing machines and 10 dryers with a complete washing guide. Washing detergent is provided by the college office. The machines can be used with your Campus Card.
Kitchens
If Aramark isn't enough to satisfy your appetite then you can always head to your massive floor kitchen and cook anything you want. The kitchens are equipped with two to three refrigerators each, electric cooking ranges, microwave ovens, electric kettle, tables, chairs, and complete dinner, baking, tea and cutlery sets.
